On this day in 2012, Seven time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong was stripped of the titles he won from 1999-2005 after being found guilty of taking illicit performance enhancing drugs and blood transfusions.
He also faces charges for asking his team mates to take dope in order to help him win races.
Born in 1971, he became a professional cyclist in 1992 and went on to become the world's number 1 rider in 1996.
The period he was stripped of his titles marked his fall from grace to grass as one of the world's greatest in the sport.
