I. August 11, 1492
The 214th Pope, Rodrigo Borgia Alexander VI was elected as the papacy.
His tenure was quite controversial
Interestingly, August 11, 1978, was the funeral of Pope Paul VI.
II. August 11, 1906
The patent for a talking film was awarded to French Eugène Augustin Lauste. This marked a remarkable turn in the history of Cinema.

III. August 11, 1912
The Sultan of Morrocco, Mulai Hafid, who started ruling in 1908 left his throne in 1912 after serious internal dissent. Not the first time, “internal dissent” has led a King of Morroco to shift his stance.
IV. August 11, 1972
The U.S Army finally withdrew the last of its troops from Vietnam. Not the first and last time, U.S has ruined many sovereign nations.
