- 7 years back, Burj Khalifa opened in Dubai which by date is the tallest building on earth (not sure about other planets, folks! )
- 13 years back, Spirit landed succesfully on Mars. (Not the candy!)
- Sputnik 1, the first artificial satellite fell to earth in 1958, completing 1440 orbits.
- In 1865, New York Stock Exchage (NYSE) opens up its first permanent headquarter at 10-12 Broad near Wall Street, 2 month before its 48th anniversary.
- Have you watched or read "Twelve Years a Slave"? Author Solomon Northup got freedom on this day in 1853, which eventually helped Steve McQueen get an Oscar.
I'm starting this as an experiment to increase my general knowledge and will try to find good stories and fun facts about what happened on the date. I'll try to write it daily, but I'm not sure if I can.
