Great Explorer Lost Without a Trace

From the time of Christopher Columbus to Vasco da Gama, there are always explorers lost while exploring the world.

Exploring the world is not an easy matter especially without the advanced equipment. Therefore it is very necessary people with strong guts to face challenges and take risks that endanger their lives.

Of the many explorations done by mankind (whether known publicly or not), there are always explorers who disappear. Either drowning in the ocean, being killed by pirates, disappearing in the desert or in a forest without a trace, or anything else.

Here is a summary of two explorers who disappeared without a trace while exploring the world.

1. Percy Fawcett

Many people get lost while doing exploration in the amazon jungle. One of them is Percy Fawcett, who disappeared without a trace in 1925 while trying to track down a city that supposedly disappeared in the Amazon.

Along with his eldest son Jack and a man named Raleigh Rimmel he set out to track down the whereabouts of a city called Z. A city believed to be in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil.

Whereas before they start exploring, the team has made projected maps of the location of the city Z. But unfortunately, while crossing the area that was different from the map, the three people disappeared. Some speculations have arisen over the cause of Fawcett's disappearance, one of which is the possibility he was arrested and killed by the Indians.

Until now, there is no definite evidence to suggest the cause of Percy Fawcett disappearance.

2. George Bass

This British sailor is known as the inventor of theBut he is more remembered by the events of his disappearance on the way to South America in 1803. boundary between Australia and Tasmania.

Bass started his career by becoming a surgeon in the Navy. A few years later, he began to plunge into the world of business and commerce.

Bass bravely made the cruise to explore South America, then Spain, in his trade mission. Unfortunately, in February 1803 he and his crew declared disappeared in the Pacific Ocean and were never seen again.
