PEUDEUNG (ACEH SWORD)
Peudeung or Sword is used as a weapon to attack. If rencong is used for stabbing, the sword is used along with it, ie as a weapon for printing or chopping. Based on the area of the sword's origin, in Aceh are known several swords namely peudeung Habsyah (from the State of Abbesinia), Peudeung Poertugis (from Western Europe), Peudeung Turkey derived from kings of Turkey.Based on the blade or sword, people know the names of swords as follows peudeung on teubee a kind of sword whose blade or eyes resemble a leaf of sugar cane.Pedang is made in such a way, the length is about 100 cm (including the handle). Generally made of iron, the shape is smoother and smaller than the peudeung on the seat.
Peudeng on the seat in accordance with its name resembles the leaves of enau or nira leaves. The shape is rougher and thicker than peudeung on teubee and slightly shorter than peudeung on teubee.
