Nikola Pašić

Nikola Pašić (1845–1926) was politician and diplomat, the leader of the People's Radical Party. Several times he was mayor of Belgrade, also several times the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Serbia.
Pasic led the Serbian government during the Balkan wars and during the First World War. From all these wars, Serbia came out as a winner. In the newly-formed Yugoslav state, Pasic was twice a prime minister. He was the most important Serbian political figure, i važan političar na Balkanu. The politics of Nikola Pasic had many opponents. Nevertheless, he was important on the political scene for almost forty years. He ruled during the Obrenović dynasty and during the Karađorđević dynasty, he was also a defender of democracy and anti-Communist.
