RE: # Want to understand... #3 Conspiracy theories

in #history6 years ago

You know I think this is just a result of the environment in which people are raised, I don't know if this holds true for all places or in fact for big cities, but I grew up in a small town, and of course there was no internet, newspapers used to arrive in the afternoon, so news was what you heard on the radio. Well in this small town there were conspiracy theories of all sorts for example that the richest man in town had a pact with the devil and that was why he was rich, even though this guy used to get up to work at 4:00 am and was mean even with what he ate, which is a good enough reason to be rich, but it seems people don't want to believe what they don't understand or don't like, thus they are easy prey for all con men who spout any nonsense. Not that I'm saying all conspiracy theories are crazy, most of them have some sort of reason to appear and maybe a small part of them are even true.

Sort:

you are spot on. big cities like in London where i am no chance. just like any other city. but you know what it means when they say folklore. its usually brutal truth we call it superstitious or mental issues in the cities.
when they say you sold your soul means actually that. not a Disney remake cartoon fantasy
