A History Of My Life

in #history6 years ago (edited)

Well, this is my story. I currently live in Venezuela, a country devastated by bad government and socialism that overwhelms it. I am a university student, I do everything possible to graduate and leave here, and I have had to live hard moments; where I've been hungry at times, or stay in the city where the university is (since I do not live in that city but another) but my friends support me so I can spend the night. One of my strongest anecdotes that I live, was that between 2016-2017, the protests in my country gave great shaking in the big cities, and of course one of those days had classes, as always urban transport and to travel always It has been bad, and I was almost late because of that. I arrived shortly before the class began, and we started ... After a while, I was checking my phone in case any news of any protest was near here and effectively. The whole city was full of protests and encounters with the police and riots ... Above all, urban transport was paralyzed. Me and a friend had to see options of how to move because it was already getting late, and as there was no other way, we had to walk all over the city to the north since we were in the east. While we were walking, we saw how the military and police attacked and beat the students who were protesting for freedom, to get out of the nightmare of the high costs of the quality of life in the country, the prices, the scarcity of food and medicines. .. it was horrible to see all that. We were walking for 3h all the way, and always to the shelter that no one threw a tear gas pump thinking that we protested with them, or also that when they started shooting we had to run and hide somewhere ... it seemed an entire battlefield what it looked like, or something worse. After spending those hours walking, we reached the point where we would separate, I would go on the bus to my city and he would go straight to his house, and that's how it was ..
But, for me it was expensive to take the bus since there were not many leaving at that time and they were too expensive since it was late, but I had no option and I had to go on the last bus that left. My friend had no other way, but to walk, there was no transport and I walk about 2h or 3h more, that almost is almost robbed by a thief, since the streets were desolate. Fortunately, I manage to sneak out of it and get home at around 9pm, and I was able to get to that house at 10pm, but I always had that memory of that great anecdote ... so terrible that I spent. For something I want my country to improve, we are not in a good situation here, and for the student life is hard, the vast majority of students are emigrating to many parts of the world for their family who need a lot of economic support, I am one of them ... Better said, I'm in the process of it, I just need my passport and some documents. Anyway, I just want to share this great anecdote with everyone and if they want to support me, they can do it, I will be very grateful and many stories will come!
