Infrastructure is very important in supporting human life. Big cities need infrastructures to serve various needs of their residents.

One of the most basic infrastructure is roads. The existence of roads allows people to be connected to each other, so that information exchange and trade can occur. Without roads it is impossible for a civilization to form.

The photo above shows a main road in Makassar in circa 1910. The road looks wide and neat with rows of trees on the right and left. Roads are the veins of the economy that allow the people's economy to pulsate.

In the photo above, you can also see the electricity network in the form of electric cables hanging along the road. The electricity grid is an infrastructure that was only discovered in the 19th century and has quickly become a basic need of modern man. With endless possibilities, electrical energy can be used for various purposes that can improve the quality of human life.

Due to being a Dutch colony, Indonesia was quite early to enjoy the incoming electricity grid at the end of the 19th century. Ironically, until now there are still a few Indonesian citizens who have not enjoyed the electricity network.
