The lives of a city circus.

in #history6 years ago (edited)

The first acquaintance of the inhabitants of Khabarovsk with circus art occurred back in the XIX century, but the performances of visiting artists did not happen regularly, although they were always met with great success by the local public. At different times, circus troupes of I.Bondarenko, F.Izako, E.Pankratov and other famous circus artists of that time toured in Khabarovsk. Representations were held in temporary premises and in circus tents. The first stationary building of the circus appeared in Khabarovsk only at the beginning of the XX century, it was built on the funds of A. Martini, who subsequently provided leasing to circus entrepreneurs.

In the twenties of the last century, the Khabarovsk residents were pleased with their circus performances by various troupes of the Spectacular Views Administration, as well as collars-collectives of circus performers and circus associations.

The Martini Circus was naturally not eternal. In the early thirties, in the 20th century, a new summer circus building was built in the city, it was located on Pushkin Street. His main disadvantage was that circus collectives could give their performances only in the warm season. However, despite this, the circus was popular, and worked until 1959, surviving the Great Patriotic War. The summer circus on Pushkin was demolished due to the reconstruction of this area.

The new summer circus building was erected almost immediately, in the same 1959, according to the project it was designed for 1950 spectators. Residents of Khabarovsk have always been very fond of circus performances, despite the absence of a stationary building, the circus in Khabarovsk has always been in demand.

The first stationary, capital building of the Khabarovsk circus was opened only in 2001. The circus project is unique, it was created on the basis of projects of Ussuri, Irkutsk and Yaroslavl circuses. Residents of the city consider the circus building to be the "pearl of architecture" of Khabarovsk. It is worth noting that the building was built in just a year, although it was originally planned to erect it in three years.

In addition, the modern circus of Khabarovsk boasts excellent light, sound and technical equipment, which makes the performances of artists more amazing and colorful.
