So.....
Once in a remote village in Aceh precisely in the district of Kuta Blang Bireuen district now live an old woman named Cut Nie. Cut Nie is a woman who is very devoted to worship and always do good to others. He has never done anything bad in his life. He has a daughter named Putroe Nie. He once vowed when his daughter was born that he would take care of him and keep him away from the temptations of the outside world even his son was never allowed out of the house. He is afraid his daughter will be affected by the bad environment.

Putroe Nie grew up and became a very beautiful girl. Seeing her increasingly mature daughter, Cut Nie wants to marry his daughter and build a family. He prepared all the needs for his son's wedding party, while the princess was still banned from the house until the arrival of her wedding day. Her mother reminded her that her daughter should not leave the house, otherwise something bad would happen to them.
On a sunny morning where her daughter's wedding day drew nearer, Cut Nie spread a mat across her front yard. He dried the grain of rice fields to be pounded for banquets on her son's wedding day later. After drying up, Cut Nie said goodbye to his daughter to go buy a need in the market. Before leaving, he told his daughter to keep the dried grain not to be eaten by livestock. He reminded her that her daughter should not leave the house and set her foot on the ground when her mother came out.
"Whatever happens, you can not set foot on the ground, son! If not then we will be struck catastrophe "Cut Nie message to his daughter.
After her mother left for the market, Putroe Nie sat on the steps of her house waiting for her mother to come home singing. Suddenly some chickens started pecking their grain. He tried to chase away the chickens but they did not go away. Putroe Nie he still remembers his mother's message not to get out of the house and touch the ground. He ran out of firewood in the kitchen and pelted the chickens to leave. Despite the chances of getting rid of it but soon the chickens returned and began to finish their grain. Putroe Nie again throws her until the firewood in their kitchen runs out. The woods are scattered in the yard. Putroe Nie was relieved to have driven the chickens to eat their grain.
Haripun is getting late but her mother has not come home yet. The sky was getting clouded and the rain began to fall. Putroe Nie confused, he did not know what to do. If he does not move the grain to his mother's sun, then it is certain his marriage party will fail because all of their grain will be wet with rain. He was worried if his mother came home and saw their grain submerged, his mother would scold him.
Finally, Putroe Nie went down and raised a mat containing grain. Instantly thundering and lightning strikes, rain fell down the more dense and without stopping. The entire village was inundated with water and drowned.

That is the beginning of the story of the emergence of swamps later known as Paya Nie. The title "Nie" is taken from the name Cut Nie.
