History is NOT a science.
Science operates on the Scientific Method.
1.Gather Data
- Make a wild ass guess as to what it all means that can be tested by experiment.
- Perform the experiment.
- If your guess agrees with the experiment...good. Keep testing (forever). All it takes is one disagreement to falsify the experiment....then your guess is WRONG.
- If it's wrong...trash your guess. Reevaluate...and do it again...and again...and again.
History is merely a record, it's NOT science unless it can be falsified.
