A real mammoth Tusk

This is an artifact from the distant past. Weight-about 16 kilograms. Length-155 centimeters. The bone was found on the Bank of the Klyazma river. And in our Vladimir region, as it turns out, mammoths walked around.

The author of the find is a local historian, a man with an inquisitive mind from the vyaznikovsky district of the Vladimir region, Yuri Kozlov. He says that the mammoth Tusk was discovered in August 2017.
My grandkids have already left. I was walking along the river Bank alone. I noticed an unusual object – from a distance it seemed that it was a large branch. However, an inner voice told him that this was not the case. And indeed. It's a heavy thing in front of me, and no wet oak trunk can weigh that much. It became clear that this is a large bone, — shares Yuri Vasilyevich – - I worked Hard, pulled the find out of the sand, brought it home.
According to the local historian, the Tusk became a kind of" local sensation " — many residents, especially children, were happy to be photographed with the find, and the happy faces of the boys pleased their parents. At the same time, it turned out that several local residents had noticed the Tusk before – they simply did not pay attention to this object.
– Surprisingly, it lay in the most crowded place in our region on Klyazma — just 50 meters from the beach, favored by residents and fishermen, - adds Yuri Vasilyevich.
The weight of the Tusk is about 16 kilograms. Length-155 centimeters. The cross-section diameter is about 8 centimeters. The Tusk appears to have belonged to a six – year-old individual-this can be determined by the number of layers.
Where do such finds come from? Perhaps this explanation: the river constantly washes away the place where the village of Perovo is located, washing out the artifacts of the past from the depths of the soil.
— It is known that in ancient times people hunted mammoths. But not far from the village is another amazing place – it is ideal for hunters of the Paleolithic era. This is a section of dunes with a pine forest-about a kilometer on a kilometer — - says the local historian.
The other day it turned out that this is not the only such find. When in the early 80-ies of the last century under Vyazniki, there was also found a Tusk. And, according to Yuri Kozlov, one of the residents of Nizhny Novgorod, who bought a house in our area, found a skull on the Bank of the Klyazma. Apparently a large mammal.

The local history community appreciated the find. Yes, and it is difficult not to evaluate. An amazing story, of course.
