Fort Christmas Pictures cont!

So like i said i went back and took some more pictures but again the park was closing so i had to be quick and didn't get take pictures of the info plaques.
"On December 25, 1837, a force of 2,000 U.S. Army Soldiers and Alabama Volunteers arrived near this spot to construct a fort which was aptly named, Fort Christmas. This fort was only one of over 200 forts built during the Second Seminole Indian War, 1835 - 1842. The fort houses exhibits and a video presentation on the Seminole Indian Wars."

It was actually hard to get a nice shot of the fort due to all the enormous Live Oak trees around and parking signs. Here is a shot of the main entrance.

There are also a few cabins onsite that are used for various utilities. This one serves as a library.
