This house was built in 1810 and it belonged to the ironmaster of Pine Grove Furnace Pennsylvania. It is right off the Appalachian Trail and it is now a hostel called The Mansion for the hikers passing through.

Inside is very nice and comfortable. For a fair price of 28.00 I get to bunk indoors in a soft bed and shower. I also washed my clothes and even got to eat a hot meal.

After being on the trail for the past six days we had a great time resting here and getting everything washed up.

Several of the rooms have antiques on display for the public and traveling hikers.

There is a secret door in a little closet near the ladies bunk room. It is rumored that it was a part of the underground railroad many years ago but the historian I spoke with says it was not.
