Parthenon

Parthenon is a classic Greek architecture more. Parthenon referred to as classical building of Greece's most important surviving until today.
Parthenon is a temple dedicated to Athena, who is the goddess who became patron Athenians. This architecture is in Akropolis. Athens Parthenon was built when the kingdom was at its peak (477 BC). Exterior Parthenon was completed in 438 BC, and finished decorated in the year 432 BC.
Actually, it is the replacement of the Parthenon Temple of Athena destroyed when the Persian Empire invaded Athens in 480 BC. Aside from being a substitute for, the Parthenon was also built as an expression of gratitude for the salvation provided by the Goddess Athena against the attacks of the Persian Empire.
At the end of the sixth century, the temple is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and converted it into a church. After the Ottoman control of Athens in 1460'an, the Parthenon converted into a mosque functions. On December 26, 1687, an explosion occurred at the Parthenon in a bomb attack on the Venezia so magnificent architecture is experiencing heavy losses.
So, religiously Parthenon has been used as a means of worship by three different religions: Ancient Greece, Christianity, and Islam.
Parthenon temple is not the greatest, but the advantages of this architecture is the accumulation of aesthetic quality and Greek philosophy: idealism way of life, which is so detailed attention, which explains the mathematical sense of natural harmony.
The precision of the Parthenon is an acquisition that can not be equaled by any building, even to this day. This is what distinguishes Greek buildings such as the Parthenon compared to buildings from other cultures.
In addition to signs of high aesthetic, the Parthenon is also a symbol of Athenian democracy.
The Athenians believed that they were different from the barbarians because they live in a democracy. The Parthenon is one of the places where they practice democracy.
There each individual voice is considered to be an important voice that must be listened to and considered.
This architecture is one of the world architecture that attracts so many tourists from all over the world.

I've always been fascinated by Greek mythology.
You should consider including a source for your images. Including a source not only gives credit to who made the images but shows you put time and effort into making your post. This may make people more likely to vote on it.
If images are Public Domain or CC0 you could just indicate that at the end of your post. All photos are Public Domain for example.
Finding the original source isn't necessary. A link to where you found it will do.
