Chemical spewing aliens, or owls and meteors again?

It was one of those beautiful late summer evenings, and a group of teenagers were playing a little football, when they saw a streaking light speed across the West Virginia sky.  They thought the light seemed to come down near the Bailey Fisher Farm, and the boys got an adult named Kathleen May to help them investigate.  Kathleen brought her two boys along, Eddie 13, and Freddie 14, as well as the football playing boys, Neil Nunley 14, Gene Lemon 17, and Tommy Hyer and Ronnie Shaver, both 10, Lemon’s dog went into the woods with them too.  The group hiked up on top of a little hill, and that’s when they spotted the next odd thing of this experience.  Up ahead, through the trees, they could see a red light that seemed to flash and pulse at a variety of speeds.  They crept towards it through the woods, and a misty cloud was soon spotted.  This had a very pungent odor that was completely foreign to them, but some of the group said it made them feel sick.  Gene Lemon thought he saw something, and shined his flashlight towards the object.  There in the glow of his light was what the group reported as a “...towering man like creature, around ten feet tall...with a red face that was surrounded by a hood...”. Mrs. May said that the creature’s clothing looked like it was green in color, and that it had “drape like folds” around the bottom.  That’s May and Lemon in this photo with an artists rendering of what they described seeing that night.  Lemon’s light seemed to make the creature react, as it started coming to them while making a hissing sound.  You can almost predict what happens next, Lenin drooled his flashlight and the entire group ran back the way they came. The local law man and newspaper came to the scene once the word reached town.  The police reported finding nothing out of the ordinary, but A. Lee Stewart from the Braxton Democrat paper said that in a field he discovered skid marks covered in an oddly gummy substance.  Skeptics say it was just a meteor, an owl, and a big imagination to blame.
