Hereby I will do an excursus on historical documents and artifacts from the past of humanity which may relate to Unidentified Flying Objects and then provide the link to the NASA publication and its conclusions.

In the Publication Abstract on NASA website Stothers' conclusions are:
Many conventionally explicable phenomena can be weeded out, leaving a small residue of puzzling reports. These fall neatly into the same categories as modern UFO reports, suggesting that the UFO phenomenon, whatever it may be due to, has not changed much over two millennia.

My Conclusions
I don't like believing or not believing in something, I prefer being a curious observer, with a genuine skeptical approach. Being a real skeptic doesn't mean denying everything which is not officially proven, but rather gathering all possible information about a topic without the need to jump to certain conclusions.

I would agree that it is interesting. Personally I don't think it represents UFOs as we think of them though but more likely religious symbolism. There is no way to no for sure.

Good points. I Have for example wondered how the ancients built with such huge stones (like at the pyramids) with "primitive" tools. There is a lot of history that we can't know and they were far from primitive.
Maybe we just forgot some hi-tech knowledge from a far past?

When I was in Arizona I got the opportunity to head out onto some ravines out in the middle of nowhere bordering several reservations. There were petroglyphs on the walls that were incredible. They told stories of otherworldly creatures visiting. There were clearly images of man and woman doing their daily activities, but then there were ones that just could not be explained easily and had very humanoid figures to them. Always had a very odd feeling in that ravine.
It would be great to go there and make an original steemit post, unfortunately I'm in Europe :)

Intriguing topic to say the least. I've always been fascinated by UFOs and the existence of other life forms that are extraterrestrial.
Many might not agree with what I will say, but from personal experience with the supernatural and super spiritual, I would definitely claim that the UFO themselves are entities. From a "religious" aspect, I can sum it up to deceptive fallen angels with the ability to shape shift, from a "logical" aspect, (which is also preferential) I can sum it up to the UFOs being figments of imaginations as well as the contributing factor that our now government status in the advancement of high performance vehicular transportation in the flight sector is not to be taken lightly, underestimated or undermined. If resources are poured in to a particular technology and focus enough, it shall be brought into fruition. As far as the strange depictions of alien technology dated in those ancient times, I could say fallen angels did exist in those days, or biblically speaking, men were able to live 7-9 times longer than the maximum 120 year life expectancy stipulated to us by God Almighty. So with so much time to master a craft, especially being gifted by God the Creator with special talents, possibly in chemistry, and technology, imagine how advanced you would be with a 7-900 year old brain wired with muscle memory and experience of trial and error?
Just a thought to get the mind wandering. The religious aspect as interpreted by many from my own beliefs and speculations may be disregarded but hopefully it provides another avenue of thought process on this nice post of yours.

Yes, UFOs and aliens may be entities or deceptive angels or self proclaimed Gods, or extra-dimensional beings, or maybe all of these things at the same time :D
