When PPKI established Ir. Soekarno as President of the Republic of Indonesia, August 18, 1945.
President didn't have a state car. Seeing the President everywhere on foot, Sudiro is assisted by several youths took the initiative to present a state car for his president. The unique Buick car is a stolen car. Sudiro apparently stole it from a Japanese official, Head of Railway Administration. It because diplomatic efforts and friendship attitude of Soekarno, there is also a car granting friendly country. For example, in 1955, Sukarno went on a pilgrimage to Mecca. When he returned home, the Saudi King awarded Chrysler Crown Imperial to Soekarno. This car became one of the Presidential car. Merdeka...!

Saat PPKI menetapkan Ir. Soekarno sebagai Presiden Republik Indonesia, 18 Agustus 1945, tidak ada mobil kenegaraan. Melihat Presiden ke mana-mana jalan kaki, Sudiro dibantu beberapa pemuda
berinisiatif mempersembahkan mobil kenegaraan untuk presidennya. Uniknya mobil Buick itu merupakan mobil curian. Ternyata Sudiro mencurinya dari pejabat Jepang, Kepala Djawatan Kereta Api. Berkat upaya diplomasi dan sikap bersahabat Soekarno, ada pula mobil pemberian negara sahabat. Misalnya di tahun 1955, Soekarno naik haji ke Mekkah. Ketika pulang, Raja Saudi menghadiahkan mobil Chrysler Crown Imperial pada Soekarno. Tentu saja Soekarno dengan senang hati menerimanya. Mobil ini menjadi salah satu mobil Kepresidenan. Merdeka...!
