Why the great men of the dead ?
Man is a social being that depends on his survival on cooperation and survival within the group. One of the most severe punishments for human beings is social neutralization and separation from the group, and that is why we have created prison sentences. Therefore, since man is a social being living in groups, it is necessary for man to develop means of communication and tools to determine his position within the social structure of society. Positioning within the group is very important to avoid bloody conflicts between the conflicting parties where everyone can locate themselves through nonviolent means.
In general, avoiding unnecessary bloody conflicts is desirable because the outcome of the conflict is not settled for both parties. This is why the herdsmen resort to nonviolent means to determine who is the master of the herd. In the event that the issue is not resolved by means other than violent, then the competing individuals resort to direct conflicts.
In the end, the existence of any surviving organism is a guide to others as strong and it has won in all its previous conflicts and is a deterrent to others from engaging in bloody conflicts, so bloody conflicts are the last choices. For example, elephants fight among themselves to determine who is the master of the herd (Alpha Male).
Birds (social) determine their leader on the basis of who chants louder. I do not want to go deeper into these mechanisms, but all social beings follow different means to ensure that the group remains within a hierarchical structure with minimal physical harm to all.
This research is not related to the ego recognized by the world of psychology, "Freud" but the self-evaluation of my personal. We all compare himself to others and put himself and others on a social map that I call "the map of the ego".
I will complete this research by dropping it on the modern man to make it easy to mention examples of reality. However, this hypothesis is true for all living beings (varying on the basis of the mental capacity of organisms). The map of the ego is very important in locating the person on the hierarchical social map of the herd. The criteria that influence the ego map have many physical criteria (the person's appearance / person's power / sexual attraction) to material factors (physical state / work / property) to cultural and intellectual factors (how a person expresses his knowledge and what is the credibility of this knowledge). Each of these criteria has an independent map in determining its priority on the map.
-for example:
Physical appearance of the body If a person competes on a prominent site on a social map that is concerned with the appearance, the appearance takes precedence over the evaluation at the expense of the material evaluation and the intellectual evaluation, although the site is an intellectual site.
-for example:
For the cleric to continue to be physically protective, it is customary today to cast his beard to announce to others that he is competing for a position in the religious social ego map (this does not mean that is enough, but the first step).
If the musician wants to declare that he is a good musician, he has to take physical actions such as stretching his hair to tell others that he is someone who has a position on the map of the musical ego in terms of form.
If physical appearance is the first stage of determining the ego on the map. The physical condition is evaluated according to the map that the person competes with. For example, in the world of business and investment, this criterion is more important than the physical shape of the person. Each area has its own calibrations that give signals to others that this person has a value (x) in relation to the axis in which the assessment and conflict are based.
The question is why do people value people only after their death?
Since we are in a constant state of conflict on the social structure, we do not give free points to people who could pose a direct threat to our site on the map.
The more people move away from the map of our ego, the easier it is to accept their achievements and give them the points that will raise them on the map. As long as their site does not pose a threat to our site. Sometimes it is in our interest to elevate someone because this is positively reflected on us. We give free points that will enhance the site (as in politics). This is a political hero (because lifting would raise my business).
This is why we do not accept the achievements of our close friends and work to devalue them, whether intellectual or material, until our friends go beyond the critical point that we can not yet frustrate.
That is why we camouflage our achievements and hide them in front of those who are on our ego map as a mechanism to protect ourselves. (We call it fear of the eye) or (humility). When a person dies and the danger he poses to us is destroyed and on our map we find that everyone breaks the barriers and praises the achievements of the person without fear of raising the person. That is why most of the great men are dead
