Different Doctrines of the World. Part 1 Akhand Bharat

in #history7 years ago (edited)

There are a lot of different doctrines that nations are trying to implement on this world. Some of the popular that seems to be worked upon are as follows.(I am just sharing my knowledge about them)

  1. Akhand Bharat (Greater India)

  2. Greater Israel

  3. Ghazw-e-Hind

  4. Great Persia

  5. Ancient China Silk Road

  6. Akhand Bharat

Na Bangladesh na Pakistan, meri asha arman, wo pura pura Hindustan, main usko dhoond raha hoon (neither Pakistan nor Bangladesh, my hope my wish, that complete India, I am searching for it)”. This highly emotional verse was publicly recited by a poet of India, M Akmal. And he was actually reflecting the wishes of many Indian who believe in Akhand Bharat(The Greater India). akhand_bharat-e1451375236891.png
The idea of Akhand Bharat was originated by the master of the Arthashastra, Chanakya.
In the 3rd century BC, the Indian subcontinent, which covered what are now the modern-day nations of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Burma, Tibet, Bhutan and Bangladesh, was divided into many independent kingdoms. Chanakya articulated the idea of an Akhand Bharat, which means all states in the region being under one authority, rule and administration. He somehow managed to achieve his goal. He discovered Chandragupta Maurya, powered him to throne and then through war, wit and alliances he conquered all the princely states to form Akhand Bharat. Fractures, however, appeared after the fall of Chandragupta Maurya, although these were temporarily plastered over by the installment of Ashoka as king. However this never lasted long.
Later another Chanakya-like man, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, rose and gave everyone an idea of a United India. It couldn't have been called Akhand Bharat because the country was divided into many fractions. Finally in early 1950s Sardar Patel fulfilled his ambition of a United India.
Talking of Akhand Bharat in today's world would make no sense because this would require the unification of India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Burma. Such a vision is impossible in today's India. But There are some who still believe in this idea and they are believed to be working on this doctrine.
Its a dream of many in current BJP leadership, supported or promoted by RSS. They still believes that one day these parts, which have for historical reasons separated only 60 years ago, will again, come together and Akhand Bharat will be created.
In 2012, then Gujarat chief minister and the current Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi gave a candid interview to Shahid Siddiqui, editor of the Urdu weekly Nai Duniya.
He, however, clarified, saying, "That does not mean we wage war on any country...we annex any country. Without war, through popular consent, it can happen."
It’s a dream that is supposedly being worked upon but achieving it might bring a lot of bloodshed. But then the intoxication of Power has no limits.
