Gorkha Palace

Gorkha palace is old palace according to history when king Ram Shah's reign was at the beginning of 17th century and is famous because of modern Nepal founder also first Shsh Dynasty king Prithvinarayan shah's reign was here in mid 18th century.

It is known as the place of Gorakhnath Baba. It is located in center Nepal Himalaya with 1210M height above the sea level and 140km far from Kathmandu. This place famous for Gorkha Durbar, Kalika Temple, Tallo Durbar and Fort (Kot) with a superb view of the valley and Dhaulagiri and Manaslu Himalayas. In this time Tallo Durbar as a museum and rural life with their own district town with sunset view is great in here.

It is home to the original Gurkha soldiers. This soldiers under his dynamic leadership eventually succeeded in conquering the Kathmandu valley. This place is a famous proverb in those days which said that one should go to Gorkha if he were looking for justice.This palace is a national pilgrimage spot.
