Historical Tourism in Tanjung City, North Sumatra Hall

in #historical5 years ago

That said, the origin of the name Tanjungbalai comes from a small village on the tip of the promontory at the mouth of the Silau river and the Asahan river. In the village there is a hall that is often passed by fishermen and traders. The hall is called Balai at Tanjung. The longer the village gets bigger and becomes Tanjung Balai.

Rumah Balai is located in Ujung Tanjung, Jalan Asahan, Kelurahan Indra Sakti, Kota Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra and right at the confluence of the Asahan River with Sungai Silau.

Replica of Rumah Balai is a replica building from the history of the origin of Tanjung Balai City. This replica building was inaugurated directly by the sultan Asahan in conjunction with the inauguration of the Tanjung Balai mayor's office building and replica of the Asahan Palace in 2010.

Historically, Sultan Iskandar Muda, the Sultan of Aceh, traveled to Johor and Malacca in 1612. During the trip, Sultan Iskandar Muda's group took a rest in the estuary area, which was later called the Asahan River. The trip is continued by following the river flow to reach a Tanjung which is a meeting between the Asahan River and Silau River. In this place, Sultan Iskandar Muda ordered King Simargolang, the local king, to open a village because of its good geographical and natural resources. At that place Sultan Iskandar Muda also set up a courtyard as a "hall" for the meeting place, which later developed into a village. The development of this area is quite rapid as a trade meeting from Aceh and Malacca and now it is known as Tanjung Balai, which means a hall on Tanjung.

The Balai House was built in the form of a yellow rectangular stilt house and a roof dominated by red. This house has 2 doors and 4 windows.

The replica of the Palace is located on Jalan Bendang, Sei Raja Village, Tualang Raso District, Tanjung Balai City, North Sumatra. If from the City Center, you can head to the Menara Lima Mosque, which is next to Tanjung Balalai Railway Station, from there take Jalan Bendang to Air Joman and this is on the right.

This palace is a replica building of the Asahan Sultanate Palace. The building was inaugurated directly by Sultan Asahan in 2010, together with the Inauguration of the Tanjung Balai Mayor Building and the Replica of the House Hall at Ujung Tanjung.

The history of the kingdom began with the coronation of Sultan Abdul Jalil as the first king of the Asahan Kingdom in Kampung Tanjung in 1630. In historical records, the Kingdom of Asahan was ruled by eleven kings, since the first king Sultan Abdul Jalil from 1630 to Sultan Syaiboen Abdul Jalil Rahmadsyah in 1933, which later died on April 17, 1980 in Medan and was buried in the complex of the Great Mosque of Tanjungbalai or the Great Mosque of Ahmadsyah Tanjung Balai.

The Ahmadsyah Sultan Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the city of Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra. The mosque was built in 1886 on a 1 hectare land belonging to the Malay Sultanate of Asahan.
