The sun (Sirius C) would have been closer to Sirius A and B 15,000 years ago

Within the Sirius A, B, C system, Sirius C was at the furthest distance from Sirius A and B around 2000 years ago, at the beginning of the Pisces month in the solar year.

The solar year 25920 years, with 1° in 72 years, and so some 13000 years before the month of Pisces began, Sirius C, our sun, would have been much closer to Sirius A and B. To the civilizations that existed at the time, Sirius A and B would have been of more interest in the night sky, just from that they would have been much bigger as they were much closer.

That then means that it would be natural for civilizations at the time to pay more attention to Sirus, and to include it in their symbolism and language, with for example the sphinx being originally an Anubis.
