Which are the best Hip-Hop songs ever created? Here is a top.

in #hip-hop6 years ago (edited)

I want to beggin saying that this is only my opinion!Any other would be welcomed in the comment section.

I judged every song by some specific criterias:

-Lyrics
-Flow
-Message
And of course how it sounds.

PLACE 5.

It is occupied by Eminem with his song, "Stan"em.jpg

There is no use to talk about Em's lyrics and flow, we all know how genius and unmatched they can be.But the reason the song was only place 5, was the message. It is sad and gives you a lot of feelings, but there isn't much to learn from it.

Moving on to the PLACE 4.

And it goes to Biggie Smalls, with "Notorious Thugs" feat. Bone n Thug Harmony.

Biggie is well known for his flow, never taking a breath while spitting fire, that won him the title of "King of Flow", but didn't won him a higher place.
But this is all, the flow and the sound of the song, lyrics and message were verry good, but not good enough.Biggie could do more.
But you surrely need to check it out:

Going on with the top there is PLACE 3

There can't be anywhere a top rap songs without "It was a good day" by Ice Cube

ice.jpg

The pioneer of Gangsta Rap released in 1993 the best song of his career, admited even by him.
Ice Cube realesed the song in the period of LA's riots, explaining to the rest of America that, there is still a hope.
The Lyrics are simple and with a clear objective, Cuve wanted to say something and he did it very well.
Just a personal note, but the instrumental of this song is the best one I've ever heard.
The song sounds good,it have a good message and genius lyrics, but there are still better ones.

Here is the song:

The almost Winner, place on the Placed 2 is :

"Hail Mary" by the well known, King of Rap, Tupac

tupac.jpg

I can't find words to describe the song
A true poem,if Pac was born some hundred of years earlier we could have been an enemy for big poem names like Jean Claude de la Fontaine. The problem is that the lyrics aren't reliable source anymore, like the ones from place 1.This doesn't mean it isn't a good song.It is a perfect song, and surely the best of its times.

And PLACE 1 Goes to... (drum rolls)

Coolio's Masterpiece-"Gangta's Paradise"

coolio.jpg

With touhing lyrics even in our days and a message that could be teached in school, Gangsta Paradise is holding the place 1 and will hold it much more time.

"Too much television watching, got me chasing dreams" is just one the verses that shows how our society works, still being applied in our days.

The masterpiece:

Here is MY top 5,please let me know your opinion in the comment section

Sort:

I still don't understand why Rakim is not on the list.
He is easily one of the best lyricists of all times.

I prefer other much more, for ex Nas,but how i said there are more critarias than just lyrics.
