Battling Old Man Mountain - Victoria Peak.
One of the members of our informal hiking group turned 50. When his wife asked him what he wants to do for his birthday, his answer was - hiking! So it happens that we end up this Saturday to face Victoria Peak again.
The day started quite well. It was rainy, but it looks like it will turn into a sunny day.
We embark on our excursion with a lot of enthusiasm.
We were not far down the road when the mist started rolling in. Well, we have conquered old man mountain so many time, we can do it again.
As we nearing our half way mark the cold and wet started getting to us. Eventually, we had to admit that today belongs to old man mountain. We had to give up to fight another day.
On our way back we found these windows of clarity when the mist pulled back as if old man mountain kept on toying with us to emphasise his victory. We will be back!
Photography beautiful friend
Thanks!
Looks amazing (once the fog cleared a bit)! :D
Thanks. The last photo is the best!
I like the last photo, it looks beautiful. Better safe than sorry, one hears of so many things that can go wrong in bad weather on the mountains.
That is the best photo. I did not take it, one of the other hikers - the guy who turned 50 - took it.
Thanks for your comments.
