Franconia Falls

My school requires you take a composition class during one of your first two semesters so I decided on an intriguing course. Composition in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a writing class coupled with climbing mountains.

Our first hike was in Lincoln, NH and I was so stoked to be finally exploring an area I’ve never been to before. Ahead of us lied this huge suspension bridge and I was completely prepared for it to break from all the swinging our class caused. The entire hike was 5.6 miles(2.8 each way) and relatively flat. The view at the end was stunning.

I was speechless at the smoothness of the water beaten rocks and how pure and untouched the area was. There could not have been a better first hike to pull me out of bed at 7 on a Sunday. The falls was nothing like I’d ever seen before and the sound of it babbling along its path gave me such a perfect sense of peacefulness. We only stayed around 45 minutes but I could have spent hours climbing overall of the rocks and treading through the river’s current.
