Summertime in the mountain.

Hike to the mountain Nordalstoppen 1057 m.

Good times in northern Norway these days, two whole days with sun and temperatures above 20 degrees celsius. Thursday we came home from a three days hike where we had a more "normal" weather, around 10 degrees, some rain, wind and fog a little more rain and..., you know just normal.
But yesterday and today, WOOOOW it feels I can live a long time on the memories from theese summer days. If we are lucky we even can enjoy the sun tomorrow too. :-) As you see, a shift in the weather and a Norwegian has something to talk about.

Anyway, after a relaxing day yesterday without doing nothing, we became restless today. I get pretty fast bored of just sitting in the sun. After a couple of rounds, my wife and I got a brilliant idea. You may guessed it, we went up in the mountain for a hike.

Todays goal was a little peak called Nordalstoppen, near the border to Sweden. The hike is around 10 km on mostly rock and quite easy to walk. We started around 500 meters above the sea, and after 5 km we reached the goal on 1057 m. The plateau have a quite harsh climate and much wind. As you noticed above, today was one of the days where we could walk with shorts and t-shirts. It was just a little breeze to keep the mosquitoes away. Perfect.

Halfway up we could see the goal to the left of the snow. The trail go up from the right, outside the photo.

It was hard fights in the area during the WW2 and lots of trace and remains from that period. This is probably one of many posts.

The mountain in the middle is called "Tøttatoppen". I live by the sea beneath this mountain.
