Hiking in the mountains of Northern Sweden and Norway
Part 3 of My families summer adventure in the mountains.
Day 6 to 8
Day 6, Vistas to Alesjaure, 21 km.
After a good dinner with homemade dry food and a good nights sleep we had a quite long walk this day on 21 km. We followed the Vista valley around 12 km. The valley is beautiful with the river, steep mountains, streams and glaciers. It is exiting to walk and discover whats behind next turn.
The increase in hight is not great the first 10 km where we go by the river up the valley. Up in the end of the valley the trail crossing a pass before we heading down to Alesjaure where we stayed over night. In all we managed pretty well with lots of impressions from a great day on the trail.

A reindeer haven't survived the vinter, could have been and accident, sickness or killed by a wolverine which are quite common in the area.

Day Day 7, Alesjaure to Abiskojaure, 22 km.
From Alesjaure to the cabins at the lake Abiskojaure we had cloudy weather with some rain. The track by the water is not so exiting, (walked there 2 times earlier) so we decided to take a boat 6 km. Maja wanted to go and started one hour earlier. Strong girl :-).

Day Day 8, Abiskojaure to Abisko 15 km.
The trail to Abisko is an easy walk and go through birch forest. The valley is a National park and untouched.
In the far en you can se the lake Torneträsk and Abisko where our adventure ends.

Yes we did it. 120 km and lots of memories and experiences. Ready for a longer hike next year?..... Well, maybe, who knows :-) Thank you Monica, Maja, Ida, Thea and Nero for a great hike. ❤

Such beautiful landscape. I like the wildflowers in the beginning and the beautiful pool at the bottom of the waterfall. I also am glad to see the birch forest. The rugged, barren mountains and the tundra are gorgeous but I was starting to wonder where are all the trees :)
Thank you for reply. North of the polar circle the trees grow up to around 500 to 600 meters above the sea level. Above that the temperatur and climate are to harsh :-).

Nice shots! The skull on the tree is a really interesting one. 120 km sounds like quite the hike.
I think someone had placed the skull of a reindeer on that tree, for whatever reason.... :-)
