In the Timna Park, an area previously under Ramses of Egypt, where Egyptians extracted copper from the ground, I ventured on a hiking expedition through the Negev Desert in Israel. This remarkable journey allowed me to discover aged copper mines and delve into the rich historical tapestry of the region. Moreover, the Negev Desert boasted stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife, including wolves, big cats, snakes, and an array of other captivating creatures. An enjoyable and fulfilling day was guaranteed through this immersive hiking experience.

Covering a distance of nearly 20 kilometers, my hike took me deep into the heart of the park before eventually retracing my steps. Along the way, I bore witness to the captivating beauty of nature, which was plentiful in this captivating desert. Although the hike spanned over two days, I opted to spend my nights in a comfortable hostel within the city, allowing for a rejuvenating rest and some well-deserved respite.

On the second day, as this remarkable adventure drew to a close, I visited the Tabernacle and participated in an exclusive tour shedding light on the historic journey of Moses and the exodus from Egypt. These two days proved to be a delightful and scorching experience. For those seeking a more immersive encounter with the Tabernacle, accommodations in the form of trailers were available for booking, providing a unique sleeping experience adjacent to the historical site.

It is imperative to heed caution and adequately prepare oneself when embarking on this hike. A plentiful supply of water, sun protection, and a trusty hat are deemed essential for a safe and enjoyable trek. I would advise against undertaking this journey during the sweltering month of July, as I mistakenly did. Additionally, visitors to the park can partake in a satisfying culinary experience at the nearby restaurant, while also having access to informative resources detailing the area's abundant copper-laden sand and general local knowledge.
