What was meant to be a rapid, minor release has turned into a typical 3 month release cycle. My guess is they are aligning some other stuff with HF19 though.
Either way, about time! Eagerly looking forward to it. I'll also make the most of the next week as this will be the most influence I'll ever have :) All power to minnows in a week.
A lot of important stability bugfixes went in to this one, too. Running steemd at scale (the site has seen record traffic the last few weeks) has turned up a lot of minor things that needed addressing.
Thanks for the clarification. There's a great more traffic incoming, surely, hope you're ready for it!
We are on AWS and can scale to 50x our current capacity in minutes, as required. We (in particular @justinw) spent asstons of time and effort in a full speed sprint to get to this point before a huge influx of users happened - and we were successful and ready for it.
I promise we'll be ready for all the future ones, too. :D
Mind you, were Steemit.com to hit critical mass, you'll need a lot more than 50x :)
We control the valve with the signup queue.
Ideally, that valve should be fully open! Hope we get there soon.
At the moment it is. We haven't had any scaling bottlenecks yet, in signups or services.
