Heavenly is your power
Though earthly is your presence
For there at the start
Were you born first of the Olympians
Child of Rhea and Kronos
Rulers of a time before man walked

Heavenly is your power
Though gentle is your way
You who harnessed fire
And taught man the way of it
Whose cooked foods enticed even the Gods
Sacrificing to them in thanks

Heavenly is your power
Though loving is your gaze
You who provide shelter from the storm
And warmth when the night is cold
Goddess of the hearth
And the contained fires of the home

Heavenly is your power
Though upon the Earth you dwell
There where men and women toil
And seek your embrace and your grace
For in your arms they feel safe
And by many names thank you

Heavenly is your power
O Hestia of the sacred flames
Who presides over the sacrifices on the burning altars
In the home and in the centers of worship
You who were born first
