Many Mistakes Mages Make: Comparing Notes

We’re going to step back off of the Catalyst Juju soapbox here and bring up a parable from another art.

There was once a Tower being built at Babel. The standing god at the time grew angry and cursed the builders to all speak different languages. When they found they couldn’t communicate anymore, they all dispersed one way or another.

If we looked it up, the exact wording might be different, but hang on.

The Tower of Babel is actually more meant to be a cautionary tale. It describes what happens when a team of people working together suddenly all start doing something different and individual.

The Tower of Babel didn’t fail because they couldn’t communicate, it failed because they didn’t make the effort to reach out to each other anymore. Languages can be learned, and challenges can be surpassed.

When we make the effort to share knowledge, then we make the effort to grow. People are always looking for something “more” than themselves. That “more” is others, and their thoughts, too.

Wouldn’t it make sense that sharing our fancy spiritual juju crap with each other would work the same way?
