Let the wild weeds in...

What have all in the above photo got in common?

They are all from the hedgerow near my house. I picked them along my walk a few months back all within a few feet of each other.

There are 12 plants in the first photo, each of them providing free medicine right on our doorsteps. It's truly amazing.

Here are the plants shown in the photo with a little info.

Daisy (Bellis Perennis) ~ Helps with bruising

Honeysuckle (Lonicera Japonica) ~ Digestive aid

*Meadowsweet (Filipendula Ulmaria) ~ Digestive remedy CAUTION - DO NOT USE IF ALLERGIC TO ASPIRIN

Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium) ~ Helps in healing wounds

Plantain (Plantago Major) ~ Anti-microbial

Blackberry (Rubus Fruticosus) ~ Vitamin C and fibre

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) ~ Calcium and Vitamin K

Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna~ Aids circulation

Purple Loosetrife ( Lythrum Salicaria) ~ Assists with fungal infections

Rosebay Willow Herb (Chamaenerion Angustifolium) ~ Restorative tonic

Nettle seed (Urtica dioca) ~ Adrenal and thyroid tonic

Herb Robert (Geranium Robertianum) ~ Antioxidant and great for tooth pain

Always consult a herbalist or doctor if you are on any medication before taking herbs. There are many amazing books to introduce oneself with herbs. I find one of the best ways of consuming and becoming familiar with them is by drinking herbal teas.
