“Perseverance is a positive, active characteristic. It is not idly, passively waiting and hoping for some good thing to happen. It gives us hope by helping us realize that the righteous suffer no failure except in giving up and no longer trying. We must never give up, regardless of temptations, frustrations, disappointments, or discouragements.” – Joseph P. Wirthlin

I'm a minnow and I still consider myself as a newbie because until now, I haven't find my own niche. It's my four months and fourteen days in this steemit blockchain and still digging very hard.
If you are a newbie my advice is that DO NOT EXPECT TOO MUCH IN THIS PLATFORM. Yes, you get rewarded by creating and curating content. But that content must consist good quality. Good quality means it is knowledgeable that your reader can obtain what's your post may contain about. It can also be funny and entertaining too. But in some point NOT ALL GOOD QUALITY CONTENT WILL BE NOTICED IN THIS PLATFORM. A lot of Informative posts are UNDERVALUED because nobody dares to open and read it.

If you are a newbie did you jump into posting without making an "introduction"? If so, as a newbie you need to do these things.

Please note that I don't want to make it complicated to all newbies here. I am giving advices in a simplest way and easiest way to understand. These are very basic but it will surely help them.

These are the few steps below:

  • 1)Make an introduction. Anything about yourself and aim fans in doing it. It is important to add photos to make it fascinating in the eye. Make it possible that when your reader tried to read a single line they get tempted to finish reading it because it has interesting story.

  • 2)Do read the FAQ you can find it at the right side of your profile just click on the three parallel lines and you can find it there. You will learn how this steemit runs by simply reading the FAQ.

  • 3)Make your Steemit Account secured.
Keep your Master Key hidden in your file and also write it in a sheet of paper and keep it in your wallet or in a safety box, just in case your phone or personal computer corrupted you still have a copy.
Remember that you can NO LONGER RECOVER your account if you've lost your master key or owner key (password).

I'll let you know that I was once hacked. Here on steemit you need to be vigilant and be very careful.

  • 4)Phishing Accounts are scattered everywhere in this platform. Scammers and hackers are just here and anyone can be a victim.
When you are just making a blog, I suggest that you only use your POSTING KEY. Posting key is for posting, commenting, following and upvoting post only. So if you are hacked you don't have to worry about your funds in your wallet because all wallet transactions like SBD transfer needs another permission key such as ACTIVE KEY.

That time I was hacked, I was using my MASTER KEY/OWNER KEY. All transactions in your account can be controlled with master key so my SBD that wasn't place on my Savings was stolen that time. That is why there are permission keys given because these keys have different task in your account. I suggest that you read this. It is a complete guide to your permission keys. How to get your Posting Key and Active Key?

  • 5)Open your Account Profile. Your account profile shows your blogs or your posts. Below your cover photos you can see Blog, Comments, Replies, Rewards,
    Wallet, Settings.

Click the Wallet then it will shows like this in the photo.

Memo

Your Posting Key will show by clicking the "Show Private Key" in the box.
The Active Key is below the posting key, you can also get it through clicking the "Login to Show." After you click it you are automatically logged out then log in again with your Master Key or Owner Key Password to enable to get the Active Key.

It's irritating when you are using only the posting key right? You need to log out again for another permission key if you want to do another transactions.

We only use Posting key just because we are protecting our funds in our wallet by the hackers attack. But there is another option in securing your wallet even if you are using your master key.
You can use your Master/Owner key but your funds must be put on your SAVINGS. Yes, keep it on your savings. When your SBD funds is kept on your savings it will take 3days process before the hacker can be succeeded in stealing your funds. But Before that happens you can already recover your account if you did the reporting immediately.
Stolen Accounts can be recovered within 24hrs only like what happened to me before. I right away cancelled the pending transaction of my hacker.
I have $102 saved that time in my savings. I'm glad I was able to get it back.
It is convenient using owner key compared to other permission keys because it's easier ways to transact your account. You don't need to change over and over with permission keys. So if you choose to use your Master/Owner key better to keep all your funds into SAVINGS.

How to place the funds into Savings?

  • 6)Click the Wallet then it will automatically shows your Balances
    IMG_20180521_002128.jpg
By transferring your Steem Dollars into Savings just click the arrow down icon at the right side of your Steem Dollar amount. After that you will find options. Then click the Transfer to Savings.

What will you do if your account is hacked?

  • 7)Report instantly to STOLEN ACCOUNTS RECOVERY. You can find it below in the FAQ
received_2130703120303317.jpeg Then online to Steem Chat, you can find steem chat below the FAQ and Stolen Accounts Recovery find @guiltyparties in steem chat he is a witness here. Tell him what happened so he can flagged down your account so it won't be used for hackers modus.

  • 8)DO NOT click right away the link commented on your post especially when the link is no connection to your post.

  • 9)Beware of those accounts who commented like these... "I follow you please follow me with this link", "nice post or good post" (but comment appeared only few seconds ago after you posted your blog), those are spam accounts. Also Beware of accounts who has 25 and below reputation these are phishing accounts.

  • 10)Engage! Engage! Engage!
Engaging in this community is highly advice. Get involve by joining contest and join groups. Avoid plagiarism. Do not forget to put the link source on your post if it isn't your original. Read steemians posts frequently, upvote and write comments on it.

Never ever give up in this platform! Take it as your daily challenges but don't pressure yourself and feel demoralize if you only have few upvote, it's okay. Love the community and have faith in yourself. If you want to be succeeded just be honest and always give your heart in everything you do in here. It is NOT YOUR LOST if your post is undervalued it is theirs.

“If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.” – Flavia Weedn
