Reasons I got less Attention in Steemit (You Need to Hear This Too)

ATTENTION.jpg

Introduction

Everyone wants to know how to succeed online, yet, how do we get people to pay attention to us? This is a BIG question for everyone in the steemit platform. We all need attention via following, upvoting, re-steeming and commenting our posts.

Many times, we have quality contents, yet they are not upvoted. Though advice from older steemians sounds like “ensure you don’t miss a day to post”, but this really help? You do it yet, with lesser results.

We need to gather these truths from my own experience.

1. Your posts were not different from others.

You have the same content as that of everyone else in your niche and thus, the need for a competitive analysis to be made. Why should anyone follow you if they’re already following the other people with the same content? Go find the person whom you follow, whom you love, who is leading your market. Now try to do what they do, better.

2. You have no real message.

Posting motivational quotes as vague and cliché as dialogue from a romantic comedy is not “great content.” You need to know what your unique talent is — and what you can share that will reinforce it.

3. You never collaborate.

Collaboration is the fastest path to growth on steemit. People won’t just find you. You need to collaborate and spend more time getting your content seen elsewhere, rather than just posting into the wind. There are many communities within the steemit platform that can help you achieve your dreams. Some include: @stach, @steemchurch, @steemitschool @wafrika @artzone, @photography @qurator @familyprotection among others. Find them and learn to collaborate.

4. You don’t understand your audience.

You have to distinguish between thinking you know what your audience wants, and actually paying attention to what they engage with. You have to watch your content. See what gets the most engagement. And then pivot and get rid of the things nobody is “Upvoting”, “Commenting” on, or re-steeming.

5. You aren’t consistent.

You can’t just start up a social account and “go viral”. You need time to grow. Steemit is not one of those “Get quick cash schemes”. Grow with pace.

6. You did not improve the quality of your today’s post from yesterday’s

Every single day, you should be looking to create content that was better than what you shared yesterday. That’s what people follow for. They want to see the progression. They want to see you improve.

7. No one learns from your posts..

Finally, it’s the education part people most often forget. Posting isn’t enough. You want people to come back again and again because you are helping enrich their lives with information. If you aren’t teaching them something new every day, they have no reason to pay attention to you. And that’s the truth.

You nailed it!

Getting noticed and having relevance here on steemit is more than just posting quality contents. There are many more things to be done.
