INFECTED: Please help

in #help6 years ago

Soooo, I was working on some things and downloaded something from one of those ads that looks like the download button... Ugh, so annoying.

Anyway, now I am infected with some kind of virus that closes programs, as well as the web browser if I try to scan my computer or work on removing the virus.

Any help would be awesome.

Here is what I have tried so far:
Malwarebytes (Doesn't find anything)
Hitmanpro (Doesn't find anything)
Zemana (Doesn't find anything)
Process Hacker 2 (Closes right after opening)
Rkill (Doesn't find anything)

The scans that I have been able to complete don't seem to find anything of value. At least, what they do find doesn't fix the problem.

I understand a lot about computers and out of the 100s of times I have been infected with something.... this is the first time I have been unable to get rid of it.

The processes below with the arrows pointing to them are ones that I don't recognize and they are also unable to be force closed.

TRACERT.EXE - When force closed, it causes the computer to blue screen.

weeaukz.exe - Permission Denied in every way possible...

zaniswp.exe Permission Denied in every way possible...

I have been trying to find anything that will help me out here but so far I am unable to find anything....

If you know anything about infections then feel free to help me out...

Thanks,

Tim

Best practices for resolving tracert issues
A clean and tidy computer is the key requirement for avoiding problems with tracert. This means running a scan for malware, cleaning your hard drive using 1cleanmgr and 2sfc /scannow, 3uninstalling programs that you no longer need, checking for Autostart programs (using 4msconfig) and enabling Windows' 5Automatic Update. Always remember to perform periodic backups, or at least to set restore points.

Should you experience an actual problem, try to recall the last thing you did, or the last thing you installed before the problem appeared for the first time. Use the 6resmon command to identify the processes that are causing your problem. Even for serious problems, rather than reinstalling Windows, you are better off repairing of your installation or, for Windows 8 and later versions, executing the 7DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command. This allows you to repair the operating system without losing data.

To help you analyze the tracert.exe process on your computer, the following programs have proven to be helpful: ASecurity Task Manager displays all running Windows tasks, including embedded hidden processes, such as keyboard and browser monitoring or Autostart entries. A unique security risk rating indicates the likelihood of the process being potential spyware, malware or a Trojan. BMalwarebytes Anti-Malware detects and removes sleeping spyware, adware, Trojans, keyloggers, malware and trackers from your hard drive.
Google the problem ,it can be of help.
You know back in time when i had such problems i used to format my pc ...lol....quick and clear method.😂

At this point... many days later I would love to reformat my PC but I don't have a Windows installation disk to reinstall the OS if I did that... :(

Try booting into safe mode and see it the problem persists. If not Then there is a thing you will have to research called 'revert to last known safe install' or 'system restore'. It will most likely install a month old version of your PC but you need to see, obviously you lose a lot of data. As a last resort 'restore to manufacture default' which deletes everything. I wouldn't recommend backing up as the files could contain the virus but that's up to you if you want to take that risk or the files are critically important.

That is no big deal you have an internet connection, a disk empty disk (buy it from the market), I will give you the site where to download the Windows 10 version...all done mate...don't freak out it is just that simple.

Owk I am not a computer Guru either but I have one suggestion to make. You said that you were able to complete some scans but couldn't find a solution to it. I want to believe that you made use of an antivirus to xo.plete that scan. Why not update that anti virus and scan again. Mayb this time it would pick it up. By the way, just like lordjames did...ama resteem so that others would see it and mayb someone would have a solution.

Thanks, i will try it... appreciate the help and support.

Mmmm it's possible to find the files infected with the virus and delete manually? I don't very sure about it.
