How to Videos ( help videos)

Introduction to ReggaeSteem

Why use ReggaeSteem and the Steem Blockchain?

How to get a Steem Account.

In this video we walk you through the steps to create a free steem account. If you are a Jamaican and would like an instant account, please fill in the form here and we will get back to you ASAP. Note, these instant accounts are limited so please fill out the form in a respectful manner.

How to manage your steem keys using Steem Keychain.

Steem keys seem very troublesome when one has just started to use ReggaeSteem. In this video we show you an easy way to manage them via a desktop plugin called Keychain. Please remember your keys are access to value on ReggaeSteem. Losing them is like losing a wallet. Here is a wiki article on the various keys on Steem.

Taking a look around the ReggaeSteem Platform

In this video we show you around the platform and how the various features. By watching this video you will have a clear understanding of the menus and settings on ReggaeSteem.

How to do an intro post, (Best practices)

An intro post is important as it makes people know you're are human and you mean business. People will get to know you and will be more vested in Upvoting your content. Individuals with intro posts earn more JAHM from the get go.

2 Apps to keep you JAHMIN on the go.

These are apps you can use on mobile devices. You can log into them using your Private posting key. When making posts from these apps please use #JAHM so it goes to the ReggaeSteem platform. Using these apps you will be viewing the entire Steem platform and not just the ReggaeSteem tribe. Here is a list of Apps you can use on the go.

  • eSteem App ( Not motioned in the video, but an excellent App. It is what many are using now. It has the ability to store multiple keys so you can switch between accounts easily. This App also has notifications. Highly recommended. Be sure to use #jahm when posting from eSteem App to get your post on the ReggaeSteem.io feed)
  • Partiko ( We do not recommend Partiko at this time though it was mentioned in the video. Notification problems)
  • Appics Appics is the Instagram of Steem and is good for photo posts with short descriptions. Be sure to use #jahm when you want your post to show up on the ReggaeSteem.io feed.

What can you do with the JAHM Token

In this video we give info on what JAHM Token is and what it can be used for. A lot of the information may seem a little technical but please reach out to us if you have any questions.

How to earn by curating content.

On ReggaeSteem you can earn by posting quality content but you can also earn by voting content. In this video we explain how that works and why you should be curating content.

How to Use Reggaetub.io

Reggaetube.io is the sister site to ReggaeSteem.io. It is a video sharing platform. Whatever is posted there, gets posted on the ReggaeSteem.io feed. What you earn on Reggaesteem.io corresponds to what you earn on ReggaeTube.io. ( They are linked). ReggaeTube.io is a dedicated video sharing platform.

How and why to power Up JAHM Tokens.

Powering up is a very useful way to gain influence on the platform. It gives you the ability to issue more tokens to content creators. The more JAHM power you have, the more you can earn through curating. You can influence others to do certain tasks on the platform when you have the influence JAHM power provides.

There is a great opportunity to increase your JAHM power and therefore your influence on ReggaeSteem by on-boarding individuals to the platform. 10,000 JAHM will be delegated to you if you successfully on-board individuals from or connected to the Caribbean. You will act as a mentor teaching them the ropes and you can decide if you want some of the JAHM Power delegated to them. Delegated JAHM is usable by you, but owned by the ReggaeSteem account. Once the individual you have on-boarded is posting successfully and understands how to use Reggaesteem, you the mentor will be gifted up to 5,000 JAHM as your own. Not delegated, but full ownership of the tokens. See the post below for more details.

ReggaeSteem has started an on-boarding initiative lead by @conradsuperb. The goal is to onboard Caribbean nationals or persons who have any relation to the region. Delegation opportunities and liquid JAHM incentives abound. Read more here.

Wow, you have been busy with work and it has all cumulated into this post. A+ for effort, I'm sure this will be used as a reference for many months to come.

I don't recommend Partiko at this time, it seems to be broken and the @jahm.whitelist ignores posts made on Partiko as they don't automatically tag ReggaeSteem.

100% agree. I’ve been using Partiko for some time now but am thinking of making my way over to esteem for a more user-friendly experience. Not getting notifications of who is interacting with you on a daily basis in and of itself is scary enough to scare people away from using this DApp

Posted using Partiko iOS

Thank you !
Yes. Partiko works on and off. eSteem has better functionality and you can switch between accounts easily. Edited the partiko link to : "Not recommended".

Nice full encompassing update for the community. It’s nice to have links to visit when you need help. I think this one is worth a bookmark for those looking to begin their journey here on RS, or even to those who have been JAHMin for some time.

A link in the future days to be added to this helpful guide could be the:

  • “How to receive a JAHMin delegation from the team” linking the onboarding initiative

Nice work, boss man 👍🏼
(You know who I’m talkin to) 😎

Great idea, just added the info on the on-boarding initiative. It blended well as the last video was about powering up. A video for the initiative isn't a bad idea either.

Respect!

Excellent videos, very necessary for those who are starting out, basically applies to all steemit. It is a very good contribution that they make with this post @reggaeteem
Account creation, vital to learn the correct use of the keys, however I must assume that even though I had seen Steem Keychain I did not have it in my PC, only a few days ago I installed it and it is a very good tool, it gives a lot of security in the handling of the keys.

As for the Apps, I definitely recommend eSteem, zero problems so far, I use the PC version (eSteemSurfer) and also in my mobile (eSteem Movile) I have practically no counter-recommendation, has good systems to encourage commenting, voting, publishing, among other things. They vote you the publications, at least this way you know that someone will vote them ha ha ha

At some point I used Partiko, it didn't work for me, lately it has had some problems, I think. However, there are those who have done well.
I'll check how to upload videos to Reggaetube, that's what I haven't tried.

As for helping people enter the tribe, well, I do not know if it counts, but I have communication with @zhanavic69 (already preparing for the next JPUD) and @jadvend, both are also from Venezuela, we maintain communication via Whatsapp, to them, as well as many others I extended the invitation to publish on Reggaesteem. I hope many more will join soon. For my part I am doing a job in private. Anyway, if it does not count, no problem, the important thing is to increase the quality content.

We keep reading each other. Of course.

Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 15 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.

I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 2 SBD worth and should receive 127 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.
