Hi I'm new to steemit; and I see allot of people with personalized pages and display pictures.

Is there a thread that talks about how to do this?

Please let me know!

P.S. if you could also let me know how to use the apps on here; I'm also looking for app recommendations, I'd really appreciate it!

Hi and welcome... The app i use is "eSteem" quite OK. for the rest i'm quite new also... don't know! Enjoy this awsome community

u can embed foto with imgur....i am also new today...so i just tried it...
videos you can embed with url....
i hope i could help you
