Hello, World

My name is Daniel Drake. I'm an independent artist, musician and game developer based in St. Louis, MO. I discovered the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency about a month ago, and have found myself enchanted. The community is brilliant.

When I finally grasped how blockchain technology works, my entrepreneur-brain started to whir. I have considered "making a better Facebook" one of my long-term goals, and stumbling upon Steemit was a gift. It's nice to know there are other people thinking about these things, and doing fantastic work towards realizing them.

The world needs hope and innovation, not distraction and negativity. Old media (which now includes Facebook) has failed to provide a vision of a brighter future. But there will always be people that disregard old media, technology, and ways of thinking. My challenge is to become one of those individuals. I would much rather live as an agent of change than sit and wait for the world to determine my future for me.

I'm very happy to be a part of this community.

In the coming days, I hope to use Steemit as a platform to discuss my ideas, interact with inspirational personalities, and share my projects with the world.

Currently, my time is almost wholly devoted to 4 things: Dancakes (my full time pancake art business), Anthromancer (an ambitious spiritual experience disguised as a board game), learning about Blockchain, and cultivating relationships with the people I'm closest to. I enjoy sitting in cafes and drinking green tea, writing down crazy impossible ideas and figuring out how to make them happen. My romantic partner and I have a sphynx cat named Fibbing, and we share a home with my business partner and his significant other.

I enjoy my life very much and have no intention of allowing an old paradigm to make me suffer. The future is bright, beautiful, and full of wonder. I hope to meet others who think like I do.
