bayelsa state
In the Southern part of Nigeria lies Bayelsa State which is the core region of the Niger Delta and is centralized between the States of Delta and Rivers. It has a lot of important cities but the Capital is known as Yenagoa. The main language of the inhabitants of the State is Ijaw language but you can also find more language diversities there and these include as Kolukuma, Mein, Bomu, Nembe, Epie-Atisa, and Ogbia.
Just like other parts of Nigeria, the major and official language used there is English Language as it was created out of Rivers State in 1996 and therefore, it is included among one of the most recently created states in the Federal Repu blic of Nigeria.
The State of Bayelsa is one of the largest producers of crude oil and Natural gas and this is the reason that production of petroleum is very intensive but with that fact notwithstanding, the people are still living in abject poverty but majorly in the rural areas.
The fact that the rural dwellers are much is based on the reason of the nature of the environment, education, transportation, health and other factors which are lacking for the people. The reason for this is due to neglecting from the Federal government, state government and the petroleum companies who have their wells there and still don’t wish to cater for the people. Ever since the creation of the state, this has been a very large problem and other governments that have entered in succession have done nothing to combat the situation or provide a solution for the problem.
With the arising problems, the local people of the State still try their best to be engaged in fishing for their occupations but to get a proper job in the State, you have to be able to go through the Bayelsa State government.
