Kalinga is known to be as the strongest Cordillerans. Amongst all the Igorots they are the strongest and feared tribes. They are known as headhunters. The Kalingan society is kinship oriented. It is evident that once you hurt a member of the clan, the entire clan will avenge for that person. Since Kalingans are courageous fighters/warriors they developed a peace pact called Bodong to enhance harmony with other clan and to avoid tribal wars. They are also best known of their body tattoos which signifies warriorism. Even ladies of this group are knows how to fight and can defend themselves.
Kalingans are best in their intricate woven cloth, pottery, blacksmith, farming and livestock. They are self-sufficient tribes. They harbor in the province of Kalinga in the mountain rangers of Cordillera. They live in an organize community mostly of kinship as well. It is strategic in way that it is impossible for intruders to back them down.
