shaku shaku
Shaku Shaky is a dance peculiar to the people of Nigeria. Shaku Skaku is a dance that can to danced to any music depending on how good you know how to dance the skaku skaku dance. It is a dance with unique dancing steps where you move your body almost like you are drunk or high on copious amount of weed. The movement of the dance is done by stretching the arms in and out( crossing over each other) and the legs moving in and out side ways (like a leg over in soccer) at the same time. The rest of the dance movement is a freestyle using the same method as suited to the dancer.
The name Shaku Shaku was given to the dance because Shaku shaku is a street name for guys and the dance is likened to the way street guys move when they try to dance in a drunken state. Though the have been credited to OLAMIDE a Nigerian singer and rapper but he is not the inventor, it was only credited to him because the main breakthrough of the dance came after the fourth edition of his annual Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC 4) show in which most of the guest artists including Olamide ( the host of the show) showcased the dance in front of over ten thousand people. Most of the musical videos produced by Nigerian Artist usually feature the dance.
