robert goddard
robert goddard 1882 ile 1945 yılları arasında yaşamış olan, uzay çağının açılmasında büyük rol oynayan, fizik profesörü ve bir mucittir.
yaşadığı dönemde roketlere ilgi duyan goddard, uzay araçlarının atalarını yapmayı başarmıştır. ilk yaptığı roket 50-60 metre yüksekliğe çıkarak bir tarlanın üzerine düşmüştür. bunun üstüne daha da hırslanan robert goddard bundan kısa bir süre sonra 800 km hıza ulaşan bir roket yapmayı başarmıştır.
yaptığı roketler sayesinde günümüzde uzay projelerinin bu kadar gelişmesini sağlasa da, yaşadığı dönemde kendisiyle çok dalga geçilmiştir.
