King Neptune is the king of Fishman Island and also the father of Shirahoshi, as a king he commanded a whole country and a large group of soldiers. He is also humongous merman in appearance that also gave him monstrous strength and befits for his size. King Neptune is somewhat different from a regular merman because he can command or talk to a whale which regular fishmen only talks to smaller sea creatures. Many didn't knew that Neptune is a closed friend of Whitebeard when they were both in their prime years, he is also a former soldier that committed some crimes due to avenging his fallen comrades.
