tawad
Tawad is a Filipino custom of asking for a discount to stuff they buy. Making "tawad" usually happens in wet market or any informal buy and sell stuff.
Tawad is a Filipino word meaning "forgive". Honestly, I don't know how the word "tawad" is used to ask for discount from a seller. However, it really works.
"Wala bang tawad dyan?" ( Isn't there any discount?)
You can use this line to ask for a discount on all the things you are buying here in the Philippines. But don't make tawad to much. The seller also needs to earn a living :)
