"Enebeyen" is the slang of the Filipino expression "anu ba yan" which in English can mean like "why like that". It is an idiomatic expression I guess because literally "anu ba yan" in English is "what is that". However, as an expression, it doesn't apply the same way. With the advent of social media like twitter and text messages where characters of a message is limited, millennials made a way of conveying their message while conserving space. They combine words and make a new word with the same meaning. For example is , "anu ba yan" which became "enebeyen" and "Diyos ko, Lord' transformed as "jeskelerd"

Example:

  • Enebeyen, the rice is overcooked again!
  • Jeskelerd, it rained exactly after I clean my car. Enebeyen!
