The "Hebrew Language Day”

This week we mark this day, actually it was exactly two days ago....
How could I miss it?
This day is a day of awareness that is marked every year in the State of Israel to promote the status of the Hebrew language in Israel and abroad. The day of the Hebrew language was set by law, for the 21st of Tevet is the birthday of Eliezer ben Yehuda.

Eliezer Ben Yehuda or Israel Itzhak Perlman, was the initiator of using the Hebrew speech in the land of Israel at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the "Revival".
Eliezer has worked tirelessly to enable the renewal of the use of language in today's life and not as a holy language for praying. He composed the dictionary of Ben-Yehuda, which also included invented words that were not in the ancient sources like the bible.

This according to certain rules not only grammar ones such as the word pupil, which is for the small man that is reflected when you look in the eyes of somebody of course in Hebrew.
How do you mark this important day? Each year in a different way.
This year, for example, the Academy of the Hebrew Language, among other things, has published word innovations on Tnuva's milk cartons.

The Center for Educational Technology and the Ofer Shopping Mall group together with the initiator Yirmam Netanyahu, a consultant and lecturer in language, advertising and journalism have created a campaign.
This event was designed to present the amusing, playful and Hebrew-speaking parties through a series of ads posted at the Ofer shopping centers. The ads present the story that lies behind the words and their meaning, the connection between the sound of the word and its meaning, points of thought related to words in Hebrew, and more.
