I Can Not Wait To Get Back Home!
So in the middle of Europe where winter hits like in the mountains back home in Australia!
All that white stuff that falls from the sky, making it almost impossible to move around, drive vehicles, icy roads, shovels the size of boogie boards made especially for shoveling snow, I mean, winter in Europe just SUCKS rotten eggs.
The only day that snow is kind of like welcome in my back yard is Christmas, and that is it.
Now I may have expressed my love for the winters of Europe, but there is one thing that just kills me here.
The heating systems, especially the wood heaters!
I mean, I have seen some silly looking wood stoves since coming to Europe, not to name any of them, but we are talking technology that belongs in Hollywood for those spaghetti westerns.
So back like just over 2 decades ago when I brought over a shipping container of my stuff, I purchased a brand new Coonara Classic!
Yep, a wood heater with a fan in it that distributes the heat all over the house!
Imagine that now!
What kills me is the fact that it was designed and made in AUSTRALIA!
You know, AUSTRALIA!
Now I can understand that Germans have the best engineers for motor engines, cars and God only knows what else, I can understand that many a country in Europe likes the tourism that the snow and winter brings in, but what I don't understand is why in the hell they haven't been able to make a good reliable wood heater like The Coonara?
Talk about irony!
What even makes me laugh more is that everyone who sees our heater is "amazed" at how it works, how there is no smoke except for when putting pieces of wood that look like entire trees into our furnace area, compared to the match sticks that barely fit into their spaghetti western specials...... I mean for goodness sake, I cant imagine what it is like to have to chop wood up into match sticks so that they maybe fit into the furnace area of a wood heater!
What ever the case may be, I can't wait to get back home and just enjoy normality, or what ever it is nowadays with all the "changes" that have taken place over the past 20+ years.

I have come to realize that not everything is the way it used to be).
But no matter what Fathers Day or Mothers Day or St Pats Day may be called in future, I know one thing!
Ready for it?
Guess what I will be putting into my home when I'm back in Australia!
You guessed it!
A spaghetti western European wood heater.... so that all the people who visit say "Where did you find this antique?"
Might even manage to flog it off to some sorry sod!
Just kidding!
