Healthy Breakfast Challenge: Magic Potatoes
For my entry for the 'Healthy Breakfast Challenge' I chose something I eat A LOT. This is a recipe that my family and I created over the years. What we have here ladies and gentlemen, is what I like to call 'Magic Potatoes'.
What you need for this recipe:
red, russet, and sweet potatoes, himilayan salt, black pepper, onions, peppers, hemp hearts, coconut oil, and turmeric.
You start with slicing russet, red, and sweet potatoes.
Dice onion and peppers.
What you want lightly first are the russet and red potatoes as they take longest. Just a TINY bit of coconut oil needed. Mostly for the pans sake.
Next you want to add the sweet potatoes. Finally and near the end (I like them near raw) you add your diced peppers and onions.
Gather himilayan salt, black pepper, and if you have it TURMERIC!
Hemp hearts added last in their raw form.
And there you have it! Magic Potatoes! This recipe is filled with omegas, all essential proteins, beta carotene, lots of other vitamins, andninsane amounts of minerals. The coconut oil is a very good fat for ones diet. The pepper helps with taste as well as to absord more of the foods nutrient content.
I hope you enjoy! This was my favorite contest to date! I love sharing recipes!
I did this post via my phone so I hope it turns out alright!

Looks delicious minus the salt.
What is wrong with the salt?! The benefits of himilayan are immense!
I wont get into it to much here. I will be making a post on it soon, but salt is a dead substance. It is inorganic no matter the form. Since it is dead and inorganic our body cannot use the nutrients in it. The salt belongs in the ground so the plants can grow from them and we eat the plants which have the living salts in them in a bio available form.
Think if you ate a bunch of salt what would happen? You would die because it dries the body out and provides no nutrition. Animals will not even touch salt water if you give it to them they can sense it is not healthy. If you research into ancient cultures even the Native Americans here in the US they did not use salt and would not eat the European's food that had salt on it. The only reason salt was even used in the first place was to preserve food not make it healthy.
It has it's place as everything does, but being used for nutrition is not that.
That is very very incorrect! Do you not know the mineral content in Himalayan salt?
I agree @themixedhippie
I agree with a lot of that but I personally dont agree with salt having no nutritional value. Maybe traditional table salt. But Himilayan and others contain huge benefits for humans. Chugging a glass of water with Himilayan salt gives one insane energy and helps detoxify ones system.
I used to believe the same thing until I really looked into what salt is. Himilayan salt is made of many different substances but we cannot absorb them into our body due to the form of them. It is the same as us eating clay or soil. It has nutrients but not for a living organism as our body. Salt is simply a crystal which is a shiny rock. We need live organic nutrients to assimilate them into our body.
Something that has a similar nutrient complex as himliayan salt is Shilajit. The nutrients are bio available in this and an immense source of energy.
If you follow me I will be releasing much more in depth posts on salt and how it relates to the sea and currenSEA and the soul and kings/queens. There's a lot of info to share on it and it is a cornerstone, literally, of how the society operates. It is why we get paid a SALary and we get asSALTed by it.
You are probably right.
